RESULTS
The women's swim team swam past Brooklyn College, 110-84, in the conference opener on Monday evening in Brooklyn, NY. The Bloodhounds improve to 2-1 on the season. The Bulldogs fall to 0-3 overall.
John Jay opened the evening with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The tandem of sophomore
Isabella Heitz, senior
Mavis Ma, freshman
Maya Chedraoui, and sophomore
Nicole Pang finished in 2:16.28.
In the fifth event, 200 free, Pang collected a top finish as she swam with a time of 2:46.56. In the next event, Heitz won the race when she swam the 50 free in 28.19.
Chedraoui followed that with a first-place finish in the 100 fly in a time of 1:10.17.
Junior
Giovanna Jara (100 free; 1:10.77) and Ma (1:16.60) also picked up first-place times to lead John Jay.
In the final event of the night, 200 free relay, the group of Chedraoui, Ma, Pang, and Heitz registered 11 points when they finished in 2:00.02.
The Bloodhounds travel to Old Westbury, NY on Tuesday, November 27, for a non-conference tri-meet at 6:00 pm. John Jay will face the College at Old Westbury and Sarah Lawrence.
