The rifle team picked up two MAC Rifle and NCAA victories on Saturday on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA. The Bloodhounds defeated MIT in air rifle, 2268-2192, and smallbore, 2162-2131. John Jay improves to 6-0 in air rifle and 4-1 in smallbore.
The Bloodhounds finished with the top four scorers in air rifle. Junior
Lily Graham led all shooters with a match-high score of 574. Finishing in second place was sophomore
Eliza Kotowska with a 567. Rounding out the top four were sophomore
Susana Sanchez (565) and junior
Ida Sato (562).
In smallbore, Graham and Kotowska placed first and second with scores of 558 and 541, respectively. Sophomore
Marc Suda registered a third-place finish for John Jay with a 533. Sato finished in fourth with a score of 530.
The Bloodhounds travel to the United States Naval Academy on Saturday, February 17, for an NCAA only match.
