The rifle team dropped two NCAA only matches at the United States Naval Academy on Saturday in Annapolis, MD. The Bloodhounds lost in air rifle, 2359-2252, and smallbore, 2314-2168.
In air rifle, junior
Lily Graham led John Jay with a team-high score of 570. Junior
Ida Sato registered a 541, good for second on the team. Freshman
Michael Hyde finished third with a score of 531. Sophomore Susana and freshman
Justin Marando placed fourth and fifth with scores of 526 and 474, respectively.
In smallbore, Graham led the squad recording a team-high 582. Sato registered a second-place finish with a 560. Rounding out the top five were Sanchez (557), Hyde (553), and Marando (504).
The Bloodhounds will now gear up for the MAC Rifle Championship on Saturday, March 3, on the campus of MIT in Cambridge, MA. John Jay will compete in both air rifle and smallbore disciplines.
