Vaughn Scores Career-High 16 as Women's Basketball Falls to Medgar Evers

Box Score The women's basketball team lost to Medgar Evers College, 51-41, on Tuesday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds drop to 1-22 overall and 1-12 in conference play. The Cougars improve to 2-20 and 2-11 in CUNYAC. 

Shaquana Vaughn finished with her best game of the season as the freshman recorded her first collegiate double-double with a team-high 16 points, a game-high 13 rebounds, and a pair of steals. Junior Christianne Perez came off the bench to register nine points, seven boards, a team-high three assists, and a team-high three steals. Rookie Kayla Talbot grabbed a career-high 10 boards and senior Dana Nicholson added six points. 

John Jay went 12-for-60 (60.0%) from the floor, 3-for-28 (10.7%) from behind the arc, and 14-for-22 (63.6%) from the free-throw line. 

The Bloodhounds travel to York College on Thursday, February 8, for a conference game at 5:30 pm.
