Box Score 2 The softball team lost a doubleheader to St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 8-0 and 5-1, on Sunday afternoon at Gil Hodges Field in Brooklyn, NY. The Bears are now 5-5 on the season.
In game one, freshman
Tommi Mandell went 2-for-2 in her collegiate debut. Freshman
Betsy Rivera also collected her first collegiate hit and junior
Devika Prashad also had a hit. Freshman
AnneMarie Rivera made her first collegiate start for the Bloodhounds.
In the second game, SJCBK opened the first inning with three runs. In the top of the fourth, sophomore
Jessica Barbaria led off with a single. With two outs, sophomore
Ashley Quinones delivered an RBI single to right field to cut the deficit to 3-1. The Bears added insurance runs in the fourth and sixth to win 5-1.
Quinones finished 2-for-3. Mandell picked up her third hit of the season. Senior
Lisa Pellegrino got the nod and threw a complete game while striking out three.
The Bloodhounds will face Yeshiva University on Monday, March 19, for a non-conference doubleheader at Fordham University. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
