Box Score Trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth, the Bloodhounds fought back to win a non-conference game on a walk-off, 6-5, on Thursday afternoon at Purchase, NY. The Bloodhounds improve to 6-10 on the season. The Panthers drop to 11-10.

Senior Ryan Osbrone recorded his second home run of the season via a walk-off two-run homer. Senior William De La Cruz and junior Steven Catuogno went 2-for-4 each. Sophomore Sean Napier threw five shutout innings in relief to collect his second win of the season. Purchase opened the game with a run in the first. The Bloodhounds responded in the bottom half as Garcia scored on a balk. In the top of the third, the Panthers scored a run to lead 2-1.

The guests added three in the fifth to hold a 5-1 advantage. In the bottom of the fifth, De La Cruz registered an RBI single and with two outs, Meyer came through with a two-out two-run single to center field to cut the deficit to 5-4.

Napier escaped a two-out jam with a man on third in the seventh as Osborne made a nice catch down the right field line to keep the score at 5-4.

In the bottom of the ninth, junior Dylan Locke led off with a walk. Osborne then crushed a fastball over the left field fence to give John Jay a 6-5 walk-off win.

The Bloodhounds travel to the College of Staten Island on Sunday, April 8, for a conference doubleheader starting at noon.
