Jessica Barbaria recorded her first home run of the season to trim the deficit to 4-1. The hosts answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. In the last frame, sophomore
Mariela Guzman notched her first homer of the year as the Bloodhounds fell by a final of 5-2.
Senior
Lisa Pellegrino threw a complete game allowing two earned runs.
In game two, sophomore
Karen Rosario knocked in Barbaria on an RBI single in the opening inning. The Gryphons responded with seven unanswered runs. In the fourth, Guzman picked up her second homer of the day.
Barbaria finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
The Bloodhounds host the College of New Rochelle on Friday, April 6, for a non-conference doubleheader starting at 4:00 pm.
