The women's tennis team came out on top against Yeshiva University, 6-3, in their season opener on Tuesday night at Queens College in Flushing, NY. The Maccabees drop to 0-2 on the season.
In doubles, the duo of junior
Angelica Lozano and freshman
Briana Schmidt were victorious at number two, 8-3. At #3, sophomore

Kellie Murtha came out with the win, 8-3. The Bloodhounds went into singles with a 2-1 lead.
At the top spot, freshman
Mariana Rodriguez cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win. Lozano did not drop a set at number four (6-0, 6-0) and Murtha collected her second victory of the night winning at #5 singles 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-1). In the sixth spot, sophomore
Cristina Peralta defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-3.
The Bloodhounds travel to Farmingdale State College on Saturday, September 8, for a non-conference match at 1:00 pm.
