The women's basketball team fell to City College, 73-53, on Tuesday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds drop to 10-10 overall and 6-6 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Beavers improve to 12-8 and 7-4 in the conference.
Junior
Karen Rosario picked up her third double-double of the season with 10 points, a team-high 13 rebounds, and two blocks. Junior
Nyasha Howard recorded 16 points, seven boards, a game-high three blocks, and a game-high three steals.
Freshman
Katie Healy finished with 16 points, eight rebounds, and a pair of blocks. Junior
All'aha Albright added eight points and sophomore
Jessica Gorman grabbed five rebounds.
Howard and Healy scored John Jay's first eight points. A three-pointer by Howard cut the deficit to 17-11 at the end of the first.
Down by 10, Healy scored five straight points. The guests went into halftime holding a 34-23 advantage.
CCNY broke open the game in the third outscoring John Jay by a margin of 23-12. The Bloodhounds poured in 18 points in the fourth.
John Jay finished 20-for-60 (33.3%) from the field, 4-for-20 (20.0%) from behind the arc, and 9-for-12 (75.0%) from the charity stripe.
