Box Score FINAL STATS TO BE POSTED ON THURSDAY
Trailing by double digits late in the third quarter, the women's basketball team outscored York College, 20-12, in the fourth to win by a final score of 62-61. The Bloodhounds improve to 8-5 overall and 4-2 in CUNYAC. The Cardinals drop to 2-13 and 1-6 in the conference. John Jay is now 4-1 in its last five and on a three-game CUNYAC win streak.
In addition, the Bloodhounds have not recorded eight victories in its first 13 games since the 2006-07 season.
With John Jay down by one with 1:13 left in regulation, freshman
Katie Healy made a layup to put the Bloodhounds ahead. The Cardinals responded with a layup with 24 seconds on the clock. With 11 seconds left, Healy followed with another layup to give John Jay a one-point lead. The Bloodhounds' defense came up with a huge defensive stand on the last play of the game to preserve the road victory.
The Bloodhounds continue conference play when they travel to Hunter College on Friday, January 11, at 5:00 pm.
