Women's Soccer Shuts Out Lehman 2-0 on Senior Day; Remain Undefeated in CUNYAC Play

Box Score The women's soccer team topped Lehman College, 2-0, on senior day on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds improve to 9-6 on the year ane remain unbeaten in conference play at 4-0. The Lightning drop to 3-10 overall and 3-1 in CUNYAC. 

The Bloodhounds dominated the first 35 minutes but could not find the back of the net. However in the 40th minute, senior Medina Mulic received a pass from sophomore Katie Healy and buried it into the corner to give John Jay a 1-0 lead.

The Bloodhounds were not finished. Two minutes later, Healy blasted a shot from outside of the box over the goalkeeper's head for a 2-0 advantage heading into the half. Mulic was credited with the assist. John Jay outshot the Lightning 18-0 in the first period. 

Just like the first half, John Jay controlled the entire second period. The Bloodhounds led the shot category 8-0. 

Erika Estro picked up her fifth win of the 2019 campaign. 

Before the match, the Athletics Department honored seniors Mary Jo Anzano, Jaime Bilotti, Chloe Cardinale, Medina Mulic, and Daisy Muniz and as part of Senior Day.

The Bloodhounds travel to the College of Staten Island for their final meeting with the Dolphins on Wednesday, October 23, for a non-conference match at 3:30 pm.
