Box Score The #3 women's tennis team fought hard all night long but were defeated by #2 Baruch College, 5-3, in the CUNYAC Semifinals on Tuesday night at the Binghamton Racquet Club in Edgewater, NJ. The Bloodhounds conclude the 2019 season with an overall record of 8-4.

Trailing 1-0 in doubles, the duo of senior Angelica Lozano and freshman Nikhar Rathi cruised to an 8-2 victory at third doubles to tie up the match. At No. 2, the tandem of sophomore Briana Schmidt and freshman Kayla Hanky battled in a back-and-forth match to come out with an 8-6 victory to give the Bloodhounds a 2-1 advantage heading into singles.

The Bearcats quickly evened the score to 2-2. Lozano then collected her second victory of the day after winning at No. 5 to regain the lead. Baruch once again tied the score at three apiece. After dropping the first set, both junior Gabrielle Schuck (No. 2) and Rathi (No. 6) rallied to win the second to force a third and deciding set. Unfortunately, the Bearcats won both matches to complete the win and advance to the CUNYAC Championship.

This match turned out to be the final one of Angelica Lozano, Cristina Peralta, Mariana Rodriguez, and Clara Aylin Wilhelm's collegiate career. The Athletics Department wishes them the best of luck in the future!
