Rifle Splits at MIT in Conference Matches; Hyde, Lao, Lopez, Sheikh, & Zetola Record Personal-Bests

The rifle team split a pair of conference matches at Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday in Cambridge, MA. The Bloodhounds won in air rifle by a score of 2212-2200, but fell in smallbore, 2163-2118. John Jay remains undefeated in air at 2-0 and drops to 1-1 in smallbore. 

In the air discipline, junior Michael Hyde led the team with a personal-best score of 566. Freshman Eric Lopez placed second on the Bloodhounds with a 554. Senior Eliza Kotowska fired a 547 and sophomore Izadora Zetola finished with a personal-best 545. 

In smallbore, Hyde once again led the way with a team-high and personal-best 546. Kotowska finished right behind with a score of 539. Lopez registered a personal-best 533 and Zetola picked up a score of 500. 

The Bloodhounds travel home for their lone meet of the season on Saturday, December 7, for a conference match against Maritime in the John Jay Rifle Range.
