The rifle team lost non-conference matches on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Army in West Point, NY. The Bloodhounds recorded a team score of 2183 in air rifle and 2098 in smallbore. Air Force (2354 air, 2322 smallbore), the United States Coast Guard Academy (2336 air, 2250 smallbore), and MIT (2207 air, 2144 smallbore) were the other competing schools.
In air rifle, freshman
Eric Lopez tied his personal-best with a score of 556. Finishing one point behind with a 555 was senior
Eliza Kotowska. Junior
Michael Hyde and sophomore
Izadora Zetola shot a 543 and 529, respectively. Freshman
Hassan Sheikh registered a personal-high 519.
In the smallbore discipline, Hyde led the Bloodhounds firing a 544 to tie his personal-best. Kotowska placed second with a score of 540. Zetola picked up a personal-high score of 517. Rounding out the top five were Lopez (497) and freshman
Leonard Lao (466).
The Bloodhounds travel to Cambridge, MA to take on Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday, November 9.
