The baseball team lost to New York University, 16-4, in the season opener on Thursday afternoon at MCU Park in Coney Island.
In his college debut, freshman
Jake Walton went 1-for-3 with a homer and two RBI's. Sophomore
Philip Bellomo was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Senior
Steven Catuogno picked up a hit, run, and stolen base.

Nick Jack got the start for the Bloodhounds and pitched three innings. Freshman
Chris Meditz pitched one scoreless inning in relief in his first collegiate outing.
The Bloodhounds travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for their annual spring trip. John Jay opens up play on Sunday, March 3, for a doubleheader against New England College at 3:30 pm.
