The rifle team fell to the United States Coast Guard Academy on Saturday afternoon in New London, CT. The Bloodhounds fell in air rifle, 2282-2243, and in smallbore, 2238-2108. John Jay is now 4-1 in air rifle and 2-2 in the smallbore discipline.
In air, junior
Eliza Kotowska led the Bloodhounds with a team-high score of 568. Finishing one point behind was senior
Ida Sato. Junior
Susana Sanchez registered a 556 and was followed by sophomore
Michael Hyde with a 552.
In smallbore, Kotowska was the top finisher firing a 548. Tied for second were Sanchez and Sato with a score of 525. Rounding out the top four was Hyde tallying a 510.
The Bloodhounds gear up for the Beanpot when they travel to MIT on Saturday, February 9, for a conference match.
