The baseball team defeated Manhattanville College, 9-6, on Tuesday afternoon in Purchase, NY. The Bloodhounds improve to 12-23 on the year. The Valiants drop to 20-14.
John Jay opened the scoring in first when junior
Danny Wynne drove in junior
Sean Napier with an RBI single. The hosts scored five unanswered runs to lead 5-1 after six full innings.
In the top of the seventh, senior
Zach Hyde doubled in two runs with the bases loaded to cut the deficit to two. Senior
Steven Catuogno followed with a two-run single to tie the score at five apiece. Wynne then picked up an RBI to give the Bloodhounds the lead. John Jay was not finished as sophomore

Jurrel Diaz drove in back-to-back RBI's to increase the lead to 8-5.
Manhattanville plated a run in the bottom half of the inning to trail by two. In the top of the ninth, John Jay added an insurance run on an RBI single by sophomore
Anthony Liriano.
Napier finished 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs. Hyde and Catuogno notched a pair of RBI's and a run scored each. Wynne was 2-for-5 with two RBI's. Freshman
Jake Walton finished with a career-high four stolen bases and two runs scored.

Chris Meditz pitched three innings of relief to record his first collegiate victory. The right-hander allowed four hits, one run, no walks, and struck out two. Sophomore
