The women's soccer team registered a 5-2 victory over SUNY Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon in Old Westbury, NY. The Bloodhounds get back over .500 at 5-4 on the season. The Panthers drop to 5-4 on the year.
Old Westbury got the scoring started in the third minute to take an early 1-0 lead. The goal ended up as their lone shot as John Jay dominated the rest of the half.
In the 15th minute, sophomore
Katie Healy scored her team-leading seventh goal of the year. In the 33rd minute, freshman
Jillian Golden picked up her fifth goal of the season to give the Bloodhounds their first lead of the contest.
With three minutes remaining before halftime, junior
Kimberly Robledo tallied two goals in 52 seconds to give John Jay a 4-1 advantage. The Bloodhounds outshot the hosts by a margin of 14-1 in the period.
In the 57th minute, the Panthers trimmed the deficit to 4-2. Twenty-two minutes later, Robledo notched her third strike of the day to record her second career hat trick.
Healy finished with a goal and an assist. Senior
