The women's swimming team defeated York College, 103-55, on Tuesday evening in Jamaica, NY. The Bloodhounds get back to .500 at 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Cardinals drop to 0-9 and 0-5 in the conference.
Sophomore
Natalie Rizo led the way for John Jay winning two individual events. She placed first in the 50 free (32.34) and 100 back (1:45.44). In the third event of the evening, freshman
Monique Souza touched first in the 800 free with a time of 11:48.79.
Six events later, sophomore
Michaela Marmorato placed first in the 200 IM in 2:28.55. The Bloodhounds' last individual victory came in the 11th event when sophomore
Alexi Achtyl picked up a first-place finish in the 100 fly in a time of 1:31.39.
The Bloodhounds travel to Staten Island, NY on Wednesday, January 15, against the College of Staten Island and Brooklyn College. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm.
