The women's swimming team split a tri-meet on the campus of the College of Staten Island on Wednesday evening. The Bloodhounds outscored Brooklyn College, 100-89, in a conference meet but lost to CSI, 125-74. The Bloodhounds are now 3-3 on the season and 2-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.
John Jay's first victory of the night came in the seventh event when freshman
Monique Souza finished first in the 50 free with a time of 27.93. Souza collected her second win of the meet when she touched first in the 100 free in 1:02.84.
Freshman
Julia Grossman picked up second-place finishes in the 200 free (2:25.76) and 100 fly (1:14.00). Sophomore
Michaela Marmorato also placed second in the 100 back in a time of 1:19.42.
The Bloodhounds travel to Lehman College on Thursday, January 16, for a conference match at 6:00 pm.
