The rifle team competed against the United States Coast Guard Academy and SUNY Maritime on Saturday in New London, CT. The Bloodhounds fell to the Coast Guard in both air rifle and smallbore. However, John Jay defeated Maritime in both disciplines. The Bloodhounds recorded a score of 2206 in air rifle and 2089 in smallbore.
Leading the way for John Jay in air rifle was junior
Michael Hyde with a team-best 560. Finishing six points behind was senior
Eliza Kotowska. Sophomore
Izadora Zetola registered a personal-high score of 553. Freshman
Eric Lopez tallied a 553.
In smallbore, Hyde once again was the Bloodhounds' top finisher with a team-high 546, tying his personal-best. Kotowska placed second for John Jay with a 537. Rounding out the top four were Lopez (508) and Zetola (498).
The Bloodhounds travel to Mount Vernon, NY on Friday, February 7, to face off against Schreiner University and Maritime.
