Box Score The baseball team used a strong fourth and sixth innings to earn a come-from-behind 17-9 win over FDU Florham on Saturday afternoon at Diamond Nation in Flemington, NJ. This is John Jay's first opening day victory since 2017 and most runs scored in the season opener in program history.
Junior
Philip Bellomo had a career day as he finished an impressive 5-for-6 with a double, three RBI's, and three runs scored. In his Bloodhound debut, junior
Walfi Regalado went 3-for-5 with a triple, four RBI's, and a run scored. Also in his John Jay debut, junior
Mike Mescia recorded two doubles, a game-high five RBI's, and a pair of runs scored.
In his collegiate debut, freshman
Michael Manzoeillo picked up two hits, including a double, two runs, and an RBI. Senior
Danny Wynne had a pair of hits and three runs and senior
Joe Desilvio added two RBI's.
Trailing 4-1 at the end of three full innings, the Bloodhounds took their first lead of the contest after scoring five runs in the fourth. With the bases loaded, Ragalado cleared the bases with a three-run triple. In the bottom half of the inning, the hosts tied the score at 6-6.
Down 7-6 heading into the sixth, John Jay broke open the game after plating six runs. Bellomo registered a two-run single and Mescia delivered a two-out two-run double to center to put the Bloodhounds ahead 12-7.
John Jay was not finished as they added five insurance runs in the top of the eighth. With the bases loaded, Mescia came through with a three-run double to left field. Later in the inning, Ragalado drove in Mescia with an RBI single.

The Bloodhounds will travel down to Myrtle Beach, SC for their annual spring training trip. John Jay will open up play on Saturday, February 29, against Manhattanville College at 4:00 pm.
