Baseball Loses to NYU; Marlon Hiciano Dominates for 3+ Innings

The baseball team fell to New York University, 11-0, on Monday night at MCU Park in Coney Island, NY. The Bloodhounds drop to 1-10 overall. The Violets improve to 4-1.

John Jay did not allow a run from the fourth inning on thanks to a strong bullpen. Sophomore Marlon Hiciano threw 3.1 innings of scoreless relief, allowing one hit, one walk, and struck out two. Freshman Preston Reitz had a great seventh inning and freshman Hafel Payano recorded three strikeouts in the eighth.

Junior John Vento picked up John Jay's lone hit.

The Bloodhounds travel to Maritime College on Saturday, March 14, for a non-conference doubleheader starting at 12:00 pm.
