STATEN ISLAND, NY -- The men's soccer team dropped a conference game to Brooklyn College, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon on the campus of the College of Staten Island. The Bloodhounds fall to 3-9 on the year and 2-4 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs improve to 3-10 overall and 3-3 in the conference.
The first half went back-and-forth as both teams exchanged scoring opportunities. In the 26th minute, sophomore
Samson Marwieh beat two defenders and blasted it by the goalkeeper to give the Bloodhounds a 1-0 lead. Sophomore
Michael Fernandez was credited with the assist. With less than 30 seconds remaining in the half, Brooklyn scored a goal to tie the score heading into halftime.
Much like the opening of the first half, the first 20 minutes of the second period saw both teams with scoring chances but neither could find the back of the net. In the 71st minute, the visitors scored their second goal of the contest to give them their first lead. John Jay intensified the pressure but the Bulldogs added a late insurance goal and would hold on for a 3-1 win.

Kevin Luciano registered a team-high three shots.

The Bloodhounds close out the regular season and conference schedule on Wednesday, October 20, against the Hunter Hawks at Randall's Island. First kick is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
