NEW YORK, NY - With the regular season title on the line, the women's soccer team came out strong and earned a 3-0 shutout win over CCNY on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds improve to 7-5 on the season and finish a perfect 4-0 in CUNYAC play. The Beavers fall to 7-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
The first 30 minutes went back-and-forth as the game was scoreless. In the 32nd minute, freshman
Ellarose Bianca found sophomore
Jillian Golden who slid it past the goalkeeper to give John Jay a 1-0 advantage. Four minutes later, freshman
Brooke Fontaine made a pass to junior
Katie Healy who ran by the defender and beat the keeper for the open net to increase the lead to two heading into halftime.
The Bloodhounds dominated the first half with an 8-2 shot margin. Graduate student
Cyan Scott made one save in the period.
In the 64th minute of the second half, Fontaine kicked a ball inside the box and Healy headed it into the back of the net for her second of the day. John Jay's defense played stellar throughout the afternoon to earn their second straight conference shutout. Scott finished with three saves to pick up her seventh win and fourth shutout.
Golden registered a game-high four shots on goals.

As conference regular season champs, the Bloodhounds will enter the CUNYAC postseason tournament as the top seed. They will host #4 Brooklyn College on Saturday, October 30, at Randall's Island. Field number and time are TBA.
