GENEVA, NY -- For the second straight season, the women's soccer team appeared in the NCAA DIII Regionals after winning the conference tournament. Unfortunately, their season came to a close today after falling to William Smith College, 9-0. John Jay concludes the season with a 9-6 overall record, their second best winning percentage in program history (.600).
The Herons opened the game with a goal in the first minute. They tacked out four more goals to take a 5-0 advantage at the half. Sophomore
Lexi Reidenbaker made four saves in the first period.
The hosts scored four goals in the second half to go on to advance to the second round of the tournament. Freshman
Brooke Fontaine finished with the team's lone shot on goal. Freshman
Leylah Murad registered the other shot. Reidenbaker notched a career-high eight saves in the contest.
