New York, NY - The women's soccer team was defeated by Cedar Crest College, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island Park. With the loss, the Bloodhounds drop to 2-2 on the season, while the Falcons improve to 4-0-1.
John Jay's defense was stout the entire match, holding Cedar Crest College scoreless for the first 88 minutes of play. Senior
Cyan Scott had a great game in goal, collecting seven saves. Freshman
Leylah Murad led the Bloodhounds with two shots on goal, while juniors
Katie Healy and
Cynthia Madrid each had one. John Jay had the advantage in corners in the match, 4-3.
The Bloodhounds kick off a five-game roadtrip next week, beginning with a venture to Galloway, NJ for a match against Stockton University on Wednesday, September 22. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
