Women's Swimming Falls to Baruch College; Camelia Achury Records a Pair of First Place Finishes

NEW YORK, NY - The women's swimming team returned to the pool after two months on Thursday evening. However, the Bloodhounds lost to Baruch College, 100-61. John Jay drops to 1-5 on the season and 0-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Bearcats improve to 5-5 and 3-1 in the conference. 

The Bloodhounds' first victory came in the third event, 200 free, when freshman Camelia Achury placed first with a time of 2:41.03. Two events later in the 200 IM, graduate student Kelly Lennon recorded a first-place finish in a time of 2:50.82. 

Achury notched her second first-place victory of the evening in the 100 fly with a time of 1:23.71. 

The Bloodhounds return to the John Jay Pool on Friday, January 21, when they host Brooklyn College and Hunter College at 6:00 pm. Before the meet, the Athletics Department will honor seniors Maireen Coronado, Kelly Lennon, and Alejandra Rojas as part of senior night.
