BRONX, NY - The women's swimming team finished the regular season strong on Monday night in the Bronx, as they swept a dual meet over Lehman College and Brooklyn College. The Bloodhounds defeated the Lightning, 104-42, and defeated the Bulldogs, 107-41, in the event. John Jay closes the 2021-22 season with a 4-6 overall record (2-3 CUNYAC).
Freshman
Camelia Achury had an amazing day, placing first in the 200 IM and the 100 Fly. Graduate student
Kelly Lennon also took home first place in the 200 Free and 100 Free. The pair of Lennon and Achury combined to take first in the 200 Medley Relay. Senior
Maireen Coronado earned first place in the 50 free and 100 back. Freshman
Anika Amdahl won the 100 Breast.
The Bloodhounds will return to the pool this weekend, as they return to the Bronx and Lehman College for the CUNYAC/Emblem Health Women;s Swimming & Diving Championships. Day one kicks off on Friday, January 28 at 4:30 p.m. Day two will be held on Saturday, January 29 at 11:30 a.m. The event will close out on day three which begins at 10 a.m.
