FLUSHING, NY - The John Jay women's tennis team got back on track on Saturday afternoon with a hard-fought 5-4 victory over CUNYAC rival Lehman College at the USTA National Tennis Center. It was the first CUNYAC win of the season for the Bloodhounds, who improve to 3-6 (1-3 CUNYAC) on the season. Meanwhile, the Lightning drop to 0-7 (0-3 CUNYAC) on the year. 

Sophomore Sarina Moi and freshman Cindy Liguicota got John Jay started with a dub in the second singles spot to give the Bloodhounds the lead. In the third singles spot, Sophomore Dakota Himaya and freshman Mia Sorrentino teamed up to earn a win and put John Jay in front 2-1 heading into singles.

Sorrentino, Himaya, and Liguicota each earned their second win of the day in their singles matchups to help secure the victory. 

The Bloodhounds have Sunday off before returning to action on Monday, October 17 for a road match against St. Joseph's - Long Island. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. in Patchogue, NY.
