NEW YORK, NY -- On Friday, September 30, 2022, over 40 John Jay student-athletes along with coaches and administrators gave back to the community by participating in the annual cleanup of DeWitt Clinton Park on the Upper West Side in conjunction with the NYC Parks Department.
"We are especially thankful that John Jay was able to come out to help with the mulching of this park and and the interior of the playground," said Lorial Crowder, Volunteer Program Associate for Partnerships for Parks. "Being able to bring out the student-athletes is a great help to the park's employees to beautify the space and maintain it."
DeWitt Clinton Field, located at 54th street and 11th avenue, is the home practice facility for the Bloodhounds' baseball, softball, men's soccer, and women's soccer programs.
"It's really nice to be out here and give back and clean it up since we are out here every day," women's soccer goalkeeper
Lexi Reidenbaker said.
"With DeWitt being a city space and shared space, we are happy to do our part to contribute to its upkeep so we can reap its benefits," added head baseball coach
Matt LaBranche.
