Women's Swimming Edged By Hunter In First CUNYAC Meet Of The Year

New York, NY - The John Jay women's swimming team fell to Hunter College, 46-31, in the CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) opener on Friday evening. 

The Bloodhounds fall to 1-5 overall on the year while Hunter remains undefeated at 4-0. 

John Jay took first in the 200 Yard Medley Relay as the quartet of Andreea Gheorghe, Anika Amdahl, Cami Achury, and Miranda Perez touched the wall in 2:09.96. 

Perez turned in a pair of first-place finishes in both the 50 Free and the 100 Breaststroke. The Bronx, NY native posted a time of 26.62 in the 50 Free while clocking in at 1:17.50 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. 

Achury and Gheorghe finished first and second in the 100 Yard Backstroke with Achury finishing in 1:09.64 followed by Gheorghe's time of 1:15.73. 

The Bloodhounds conclude the calendar year of 2022 with a pair of home matches, beginning on Wednesday, December 7 against Baruch and wrapping the first-half of the year by hosting William Paterson on Friday, December 9. 

Both meets will be at 6:00 p.m from the John Jay Pool.
