NEWARK, NJ -- The softball team lost a pair of games to non-conference foe Rutgers-Newark on Thursday afternoon at Frederick Douglas Field. The Bloodhounds dropped the first game of the doubleheader, 8-0, and then went on to lose game two, 5-1. John Jay drops to 9-17 on the season while Rutgers-Newark improves to 12-14 on the year.

Mackenzie Tresch had a hit and a stolen base on the afternoon.
The Bloodhounds have the weekend off and will return to the field on Monday, April 25 for a doubleheader against Lehman College. First pitch is set for 4 p.m in the Bronx.
