Newburgh, NY - The women's swimming team completed the 2022-23 regular season on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Mount Saint Mary College. The Bloodhounds fell to the hosts, 87-63, and Brooklyn College, 80-79, while defeating Purchase College, 81-73. The Bloodhounds finish the season with an overall record of 5-10.
In the third event, 1000 free, freshman
Julia Murray placed second in a time of 17:38.35. Four events later, sophomore
Miranda Perez notched a first-place victory in the 50 free when she touched in 26.83.
In the 11th event, sophomore
Cami Achury finished in second place in the 100 fly with a time of 1:13.79. Murray registered another second-place finish, this time in the 500 free in 8:45.35.
In the final event of the afternoon, 200 free relay, the tandem of junior
Adriana Guzman, freshman
Erica Figueroa, freshman
Rina Yamamoto, and junior
Diana Castellanos touch first in a time of 1:54.07.
The Bloodhounds will now gear up for the CUNYAC Championships next weekend at Lehman College. The championships start on Friday, January 27, at 4:30 pm and conclude on Sunday, January 29, at 10:00 am.
