New York, NY - Joey Jarzynka has been named Digital Multimedia Manager, Deputy Director of Athletics Brandon Fieland announced.

"We are excited to be able to add someone with Joey's skill set, background, and personality to our multimedia department," Fieland said. "Joey is very familiar with the Bloodhounds, has multiple years of hands-on video experience, and also brings a strong creative mindset. I would also be remiss if I did not recognize and thank Jon Perez for building the foundation and paving the way for our content and creative team during his 5+ years. During this time, Jon created over 400 videos which amassed over 500,000 views."

No stranger to the Bloodhounds, Jarzynka has called numerous broadcasts for John Jay Athletics over the past few years.

"First, I'd like to thank Jon Perez, who brought me to John Jay to work basketball games a few years ago and if it wasn't for his tremendous support and guidance, I don't know if I'd be here as a Bloodhound," commented Jarzynka. "Secondly, I'd like to thank Brandon (Fieland), Brian (Morales), & Cat (Alves) for having the faith and belief in bringing me aboard to continue highlighting and telling the story of John Jay Athletics."

Jarzynka brings a strong, multimedia background to the Bloodhounds, as he spent three years as the Athletic Communications Assistant at Division I member, St. Francis College Brooklyn of the Northeast Conference (NEC).

Among his responsibilities, he wrote and edited media materials not limited to press releases, programs, and media guides.

During his time with the Terriers, he gathered and compiled statistical information for the women's basketball, women's soccer, and men's and women's tennis program.

Jarzynka served as the gameday management official during all women's basketball and men's & women's soccer matches, where he supervised the table staff, addressed all technical issues and act as the liaison between the coaches and student-athlete and members of the print, electronic media.

"Bringing in Joey to fill the role of Digital Multimedia Manager, with his vast knowledge of the athletic communication realm, strengthens our entire athletic communication staff," commented Brian Morales, Assistant Athletic Director of Communications and Digital Strategy. "A consummate professional, his ability to tackle any task head-on without hesitation has never wavered since the first time we worked together back at St. Francis Brooklyn. His passion and dedication to his craft grows exponentially, and I know that he will be a tremendous asset to our staff," Morales added.

Jarzynka continues to serve as the play-by-play voice several Metropolitan area programs: Adelphi University, Molloy College, Wagner College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and St. Francis College.

This fall, he received the opportunity to cover and call a majority of the men's and women's soccer broadcasts with La Salle University of the Atlantic 10.

A native of Cold Spring Harbor, NY, Jarzynka received his Bachelor's degree from St. John's University in Communications/Sports Management in 2018.

During his tenure at the Queens-based institution, Jarzynka honed in on his passion for broadcasting, working with the school's radio station, WSJU, where he was the host of "Beyond the Game."

He will be completing his Masters in Sports Journalism from Hofstra University's Lawrence Herbert School of Communication this May.

"We look forward to Joey leading the way on producing more student success and feature content for our website and social media platforms," added Fieland.
