It was announced on Tuesday that sophomores Mikayla Schoch and Alexandria Nembhard of the women's soccer team were named to the 2023 Academic All-District NCAA Division III team.

For Schoch and Nembhard, it marks their first selection and are the lone members of the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) to garner inclusion on the list.

Schoch and Nembhard join recent alum Katie Healy, who was named to the list last season. In total, five Bloodhounds have earned the accolade, as Schoch and Nembhard join Healy, men's soccer alum Michael Fernandez and Ted Gustus of the men's basketball team, who was named to the Honorable Mention team back in 1977.

"It is vital to highlight our student-athletes work not only in the field of competition but in the classroom and both Mikayla and Alexandria are prime examples of that within our program," commented head coach Ajani Clunie. "Mikayla and Allie positioned themselves as foundation players of this program through their unselfish play, hard work, and determination. We are all very proud of Mikayla and Allie for their accolades on and off the pitch."

Schoch and Nembhard each earned CUNYAC All-Star honors for the second straight season.

The Nutley, NJ native, the 2022 CUNYAC Rookie of the Year, continued her scoring prowess from a season ago, finding the net six times while adding two assists in 13 matches.

Nembhard helped anchor the Bloodhounds' defense record four clean sheets. The Ada, MI native netted her second career goal on the road at Medger Evers while also notching her second career assist against CCNY back on October 7.
