John Jay Rifle Records Score Of 4,292 At NCAA Qualifiers

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The John Jay rifle team fired a team aggregate score of 4,292 in the NCAA Qualifiers on Saturday. 

The Bloodhounds finished third out of the three teams in the NCAA Qualifier event with host Navy placing first (4,701) and NC State second (4,659).

"I was excited to see several persoanl best this match in airgun, which will prepare us for next weekend's conference championship," commented head coach Tom White.  

Danny Canning paced the Bloodhounds in both guns, firing a 541 in small bore and setting a new personal best of 588 in airgun. Canning came within two points of the school record of 590 in airgun. 

Eric Lopez was next with a 532 in smallbore while setting a new personal high of 560 in airgun. Leonard Lao notched a 496 in smallbore while firing also setting a new personal milestone of 549 in airgun. 

Other notable performances from Saturday's qualifier include Rochelle Redwood, who shot 484 in smallbore and 518 in airgun. 

Natalia Alegarbes registered a 403 in smallbore while shooting a 542 in airgun. Rounding out the performances for John Jay was Shaad Choudhury, who shot a 440 in smallbore and a 511 in airgun.
