Wayne, NJ - The John Jay women's basketball team earned a spot in the 2023 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament and will be the No. 6 seed on Wednesday, March 1 as they will travel to No. 3 seed William Paterson.

"We are happy to give our seniors another chance to play in a Bloodhounds uniform and pursue an ECAC Championship," commented head coach Lynda Day. "March basketball has not occurred since the 2007 season and we are excited to get the chance to participate in this tournament against a very talented field."

The winner of Wednesday's quarterfinal matchup will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, March 4 at Ramapo College against the winner of the No. 2 seed New Jersey City University (NJCU) and Neumann. The two semifinal-round winners will then face off in the championship game on Sunday, March 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Ramapo.

This will be the Bloodhounds' fourth appearance in the ECAC Tournament and first since 2007. For the Pioneers, this will be their sixth appearance in the tournament, and will be vying for their third ECAC title after winning the championship in 1990 and 2018.

These two teams met earlier this season on November 15 with the Bloodhounds falling in Wayne, NJ, 66-48. Tiffany Bogle led the way for John Jay with 10 points in 13 minutes of play.
