New York, NY - John Jay swam itself back into the win column on Tuesday night as the women's swimming closed out the regular season victorious against Purchase College on Senior Night.

The win over the Panthers moves the Bloodhounds into a winning record at the John Jay College Pool this season.

Tuesday's wire-to-wire victory kicked off with a nearly eight-second advantage in the opening 200y medley relay. Andreea Gheorghe, Rina Yamamoto, Luciana Uriate and Victoria Hapsis clocked in the team's first win of the meet with a 2:16.77 time.

Cami Achury paced the field in the 1000y freestyle by nearly two minutes with a 13:10.67 finish. Grace Driver made it an eight-point race for the Bloodhounds, taking second in 15:02.12.

It was another one-two finish in the points heat of the 50-yard freestyle as Miranda Perez (26.38) and Hapsis (28.26) took the top two spots.

Achury was victorious again in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing with a time of 2:45.27. Gloria Glenn took third with a 3:03.69 finish.

Uriarte was the lone competitor for the 100-yard butterfly, earning the Bloodhounds five points with a 1:16.96 outing.

Perez (1:00.73) and Hapsis (1:03.08) took gold and silver again in the 100y freestyle, logging the home team another eight points.

Anna Moody emerged from the pool victorious in the final distance race of the night, taking first in the 500y freestyle with a 6:32.45 time. Driver scored the final point of the race with a 7:27.11 time, good for third place.

Purchase scored 15 of its 28 points running the final two races of the meet unopposed, the 100y breaststroke and the 200y freestyle relay.

John Jay finishes the regular season with a 5-6 record, going 3-2 in CUNYAC competition.
