Women's Cross Country Defeats CCNY In Dual Meet On Tuesday Morning

New York, NY - In the early portion of Tuesday morning, the John Jay women's cross country team raced against their fellow CUNYAC member, CCNY, at Central Park.

The Bloodhounds picked up the win, 25-31, as John Jay posted a total time of 2:11.38 (26:19 average time) while the Beavers finished with 2:22.15 (28:27 average time).

CCNY's Norma Flores finished first with a time of 23:49. Heavenly Evangelista took second with a time of 24:24 while Skylah Nix rounded out the top three with a time of 24:36.

Other notable performance from the Bloodhounds included Jennifer Herrera crossing the finish line in fifth with a time of 25:36 while teammate Julia Murray was next at 27:14.

Maria Belov (29:48), Elda Chavarria (31:17), and Litzy Hernandez (36:25) concluded the performances for the Bloodhounds.

John Jay will gear up for the NJIT Highlander Invitational, set for Saturday at 1:00 p.m. from the Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ.
