Indianapolis, IN - The NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Committee announced today the field of 64 teams that will compete in the 2024 NCAA Division Women's Soccer Championship.

The John Jay women's soccer team, fresh off capturing the program's fourth City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) title in five years, will face the No. 2 Christopher Newport University (CNU) Captains in the opening round on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Captains Park on the campus of CNU in Newport News, Vir.
This is the second time the Bloodhounds have faced the Captains in the NCAA Tournament, previously squaring off in the opening round of the 2022 competition at Montclair State University.
The Bloodhounds, under head coach Ajani Clunie, enters the NCAA Tournament with a 10-5-1 overall and finished the conference slate of games with a perfect 5-0-0 record.
The newly-minted CUNYAC champions enter the tournament winners of nine consecutive matches, dating back to to their October 3 contest at St. Joseph's University - Brooklyn, a 9-0 triumph. It is tied for the 12th longest win streak in the country with Emmanuel (MA) of the Great Northeast and Greenville of the SLIAC.
John Jay, who defeated No. 2 seed Lehman 4-0 in Saturday's championship match, will be making their fourth appearance in the NCAAs.
Christopher Newport, ranked second in the nation by the United Soccer Coaches, is 15-1-2 on the season, most recently dropping the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Championship to UC Santa Cruz.
In the other first-round matchup, Vassar College, whose team earned an at-large berth out of the Liberty League, will host St. Mary's College of Maryland after the Seahawks dropped a penalty shootout in the United East Championship.
