Flushing, NY - The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced the 2024 women's soccer all-conference team.  The John Jay women's soccer team, the 2024 regular season and tournament champions, garnered two major awards, while three Bloodhounds earned All-Star honors.
 
Graduate forward Olivia Boucher was named the Player of the Year, while head coach Ajani Clunie picked up his third Coach of the Year award.  Freshman goalkeeper Gianna Duarte and senior co-captain Ellarose Bianca earned a spot on the CUNYAC First Team. Graduate midfielder Lucia Giangaspero was tabbed as a CUNYAC All-Star at-large selection.
 
Since 2005, this marks the fourth time John Jay has had the Player of the Year as Boucher joins Nora O'Connor (2023) and Katie Healy (2022, 2019).  
 
Clunie has built John Jay into a perennial title contender each season. The now three-time CUNYAC Coach of the Year has led the Bloodhounds to a robust 18-1 league mark and is 39-21-3 all-time. Under Clunie's leadership, the team ranked third in the nation in assists per game (3.41), fourth in points per game (11.18), and fourth in scoring offense (3.88). Additionally, the team was eighth in total assists (58), 12th in total points (190), and 15th in the nation in total goals (66).
 
Following a successful collegiate career at The College of Saint Rose, Boucher transferred this season to John Jay and impacted the program. This season, the Sayville, NY native tallied 24 goals and six assists for 54 points. The 24 goals are a new single-season record, surpassing O'Connor's total from a year ago (22). Boucher, a six-time CUNYAC Player of the Week, posted three hat tricks on the season, the last coming in the championship match that sent the Bloodhounds to the NCAA's in a 4-0 victory over Lehman. In all, Boucher notched eight multi-goal scoring games this season. The graduate forward finished the year second in the nation in goals per game (1.41) and sixth in points per game (3.18). Her 24 goals were the seventh-highest among all Division III athletes, while her 54 points also ranked among the top ten in the nation.
 
Duarte was instrumental in the goal of the Bloodhounds in her inaugural campaign. The Bronx, NY native went 10-6-1 this season, allowing just 38 goals while making 57 saves in 154 shots faced. She posted two shutouts and combined for five on the season. In 11 matches this year, she yielded two goals or less.
 
Bianca rejoins the All-Star team for the first time since 2022, as she helped anchor the John Jay backline. This season, the Berkley, MI native added to her repertoire, scoring two goals and dishing out two assists while playing in all 17 matches.
 
Giangaspero was among the top 10 in the conference this season in shots (44), assists (10), and points (20). The Parkland, FL native had scored a goal in four straight matches (10-16 through 10-26) and dished out two assists twice, the last coming in the semifinals against Brooklyn.
 
The Bloodhounds concluded their season at No. 2 Christopher Newport in the first round of the Division III NCAA Tournament.
