Flushing, NY - The John Jay men's tennis team dropped their first CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) match, falling to Baruch, 9-0, at the USTA National Tennis Center.
With the loss, John Jay falls to 2-5 overall and 2-1 in the league while the Bearcats improve to 9-3 and 4-0 in conference action.
The pairing of Massimo Leandri and Deondre Mckenzie took a point from Tuna Nergizoglu and George Arteaga before falling 8-1.
Mckenzie put forth a valiant effort at No. 3 singles before dropping a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Arteaga.
The Bloodhounds resume CUNYAC play on Thursday, April 18, as they will square off against Brooklyn in Jamaica, NY at the York College Tennis Courts. The match commences at 4:00 p.m.
