Women's Swimming Concludes Regular Season With Home Triumph Against Lehman On Senior Night

New York, NY - In the final conference meet of the 2024-25 regular season, the John Jay women's swim team earned a 58-27 home triumph over the visiting Lehman College Lightning on Thursday evening.

Before the start of the meet, the John Jay Athletics Department recognized the team's four seniors - Gloria Glenn, Katherine Sacgalindo, Miranda Perez, and Rina Yamamoto.




The Bloodhounds took first in the first three events of the evening, as the 200Y Medley Relay team, comprised of Victoria Hapsis, Perez, Luciana Uriarte, and Brianna Torres, posted a time of 2:10.04, setting a new season-best time in the event.

In the 1000Y Freestyle, Grace Driver placed first with a time of 14:55.40, while teammate Julia Murray took second at 15:48.99.

In the 200Y Freestyle, Glenn touched the wall first, clocking in at 2:14.12 as the Brooklyn, NY, as Glenn has now posted the fastest team time in the event for the season.

Lehman's Arlene Suzana took first in the 50Y Free, with a time of 27.80, while Hapsis and Torres finished second and third, with 28.61 and 29.41.

Uriarte and Yamamoto touched the wall first and second in the 200Y IM as they turned in at 2:47.26 and 3:06.66, respectively.

Uriarte was the lone competitor in the 100Y Butterfly, finishing at 1:20.39.

Perez turned in a season-best time of 59.31 in the 100Y Freestyle, while Hapsis placed second in 1:05.63.

The seniors Yamamoto and Sacgalindo collected eight more points for the Bloodhounds in the 100Y Backstroke as Yamamoto checked in at 1:24.58 while Sacgalindo posted a time of 1:38.94.

Driver took home a second first-place finish, this time in the 500Y Freestyle with a time of 7:20.76, besting her teammate's Glenn season-best of 7:23.95.

The 2025 CUNYAC Championships are set to commence over three days, beginning on Friday, January 31, at Lehman.
