Women's Tennis Falls To Lehman On Senior Day

Bronx, NY - The John Jay women's tennis team fell to the Lehman College Lightning, 7-0, at the Apex Tennis Courts on the campus of Lehman on Friday morning in a pivotal conference match that determined the No. 4 seed in the upcoming CUNYAC Women's Tennis Championship.

Before the start of the match, the Bloodhounds, serving as the home team, honored their lone Senior, Muy Sim Wong, in a pregame ceremony for Senior Day.
 



The Bloodhounds were competitive throughout the morning, despite dropping the doubles point and six singles.

The tandem of Anna Rosario and Layla Adaloum was pitted in a back-and-forth affair with Ndeye Ndiaye and Isis Everett before falling 6-4. Thawann Ogle and Manuela Orrego dropped a 6-3 decision at No. 1 to Gabriela Vargas and Amya Sanchez.

In singles play, Orrego forced a tiebreaker in the second set after falling 6-2 in the opener. She and Sanchez traded volleys until Sanchez outlasted Orrego for the 7-6 (7-5) triumph at No. 2.

Wong battled Fernanda Navarrrete at No. 3 before dropping a 6-4; 6-4 decision.
