Women's Tennis Falls At Purchase

Purchase, NY - The John Jay women's tennis team dropped its second straight match, falling to the Purchase College Panthers, 7-0, on Thursday afternoon.

With the loss, the Bloodhounds fall to 1-2 on the season while the Panthers move to 1-2.

John Jay dropped all three doubles matches by a 6-0 count.

At No. 1 singles, Manuela Orrego battled but fell to Amelia Perimutter, 6-1; 6-2. At No. 2 play, newcomer Thawann Ogle fought valiantly in the first set, dropping a 6-3 decision to Emma Arnaud before Arnaud blanked Ogle in the second set to win the point.

Muy Sim Wong took one point in the third set against Katelin Smith before being outlasted, 6-1; 6-0.

The Bloodhounds return to the courts on Thursday, September 25, as they will take on Manhattanville at 4:00 p.m.
