Dennis Lopez enters his second season as a Coach after being a standout player for John Jay the two years prior.
In his two seasons, Lopez earned a career .282 batting average (77-for-273) with 42 stolen bases. Arguably one of the greatest fielding shortstops in John Jay history, Lopez was an American baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Gold Glove recipient boasting a .961 fielding percentage.
He was names a CUNYAC first team All-Star in 2011, after earning a spot on the second team in 2010.
Lopez’s unwavering loyalty and commitment to his team, earned him a special reward courtesy of his teammates, which he was presented with on the team’s senior day.
