Jarret Oehler is a Bronx native and no stranger to the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC), having spent three seasons as a member of the Lehman College Lightning pitching staff after transferring from Manhattanville College. As a member of the Valiants, the former Salesian standout appeared in 13 games, earning the start on two occasions while tossing a total of 19.2 innings. He struck out 21 batters on the season, highlighted by a four-strikeout outing in the second game of a doubleheader against Eastern (Mar. 25, 2017). He earned his first collegiate save in a 7-6 road triumph at Purchase (April 18, 2017). In 2018, his first at Lehman, the southpaw appeared in 16 games, earning six starts while finishing with a 4-5 record in 49.2 innings while recording a save. Oehler struck out a season-high 12 batters against Old Westbury (April 10, 2018) in a 12-5 win as he went six innings. He thrived the following season, appearing in 14 games while earning the nod 11 times in which he went on to win the 2019 CUNYAC Pitcher of the Year, leading the conference in innings pitched (72.2), wins (5), and strikeouts (91). During the season, he was a three-time Pitcher of the Week winner and powered the pitching staff with a 3.22 ERA, which ranked third in the circuit. In his senior year, he was named team captain and following graduation, he pitched one season for the Santa Fe Fuego in the Pecos League (Mountain North Division) of the Independent League, pitching 17.0 total innings and recording 19 strikeouts in 2022.
