Carol Kashow has been the Director of Athletics, Recreation and Intramurals since March 2013.
Kashow came to the West Side of Manhattan after serving, since October 2008, as Director of Athletics at Hostos Community College, a City University of New York (CUNY) two-year college that competes at the NJCAA Division III level.
While at Hostos, Kashow revitalized the athletics department into an operation of the highest standards and expectations. She had a profound impact in all areas of athletics, from planning and staffing to budgeting and fundraising, from athletic excellence and recruiting to compliance and academic support.
Prior to joining Hostos, Kashow served as Associate Director of Athletics at Hunter College from 2005 to 2008. Before that she was Director of Athletics at the College of St. Elizabeth, in Hackettstown, N.J., for two years.
In her professional career, Kashow, a Philadelphia, Pa. native, also has an extensive successful background in coaching. She served as head softball coach at the University of Pennsylvania, from 1997 to 2003. Prior to that, she was head softball coach and an adjunct instructor at Temple University from 1991 to 1997, and head softball and badminton coach at Drexel University from 1979 to 1991.
She is a 1977 graduate of West Chester State College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education and Recreation. She was inducted into the College's Hall of Fame in 2002. She was also inducted into the Philadelphia Softball Hall of Fame in 1998, and received the Philadelphia Board of Officials for Women Sport Service Award in 2006.Â
