Joe Burbridge

Joe Burbridge embarks on his first season as John Jay softball interim head coach. Burbridge brings over 15 years of collegiate head coaching experience at the Division II level during his tenure at Dominican College and Adelphi University.

Burbridge has compiled an overall record of 459-293-1 (.620 win percentage) and has amassed a 291-87 (.788) career conference record.

He served as the head coach at Dominican College in Orangeburg, NY from 2007 to 2022 posting a 420-280-1 record with the Chargers. The team went 273-85 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).

Under his guidance, the Lady Chargers made the playoffs in all twelve of his seasons while securing a top-three seed in ten of those 12 years. Burbridge earned his first Coach of the Year accolade in 2016, guiding Dominican to a 30-16-1 record and a 22-4 conference mark.

In 2019, Coach Burbridge earned his 400th career win back on April 4 against Felician University, a 16-6 home triumph. In all, his teams captured four regular season titles (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013), and three post-season championships (2010, 2011, 2012) and made five straight NCAA Regional appearances (2009-13), which are the only ones in school history.

Burbridge spent one season at Adelphi University before accepting the position at Dominican College. He led the Panthers to a 39-13 overall record and an 18-2 conference mark in 2007. The 39 wins set a school record when the Panthers won the ECC regular-season title and qualified for the NCAA East Regional. The team was ranked No. 8 by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

Burbridge received his Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Ramapo in 2000 and a Master's Degree in Education from Seton Hall University.
